First aid and CPR are important skills for anyone involved in adventure sports – just as precaution. However these are life skills that can certainly assist in any emergency situation, in or out of the water.Emergency First Response is a PADI affiliate that specialises in teaching these lifesaving skills – and you do not have to be a diver to take this course, they’re for anyone.
As one of the foremost international CPR and First Aid training companies, Emergency First Response gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies – not just in the diving world, but in your everyday world with your family, friends, neighbours and co-workers too.
The EFR courses encompasses:
* CPR for adults and children
* First aid for adults and children
* Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
The fun part about Emergency First Response training is learning serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment. You gain the confidence that you are prepared and able to help in an emergency. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors!
Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. In other words, turning by-standers into active help in an emergency situation.Course participants learn to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non-stressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away.
You will demonstrate and learn the following skills:
Through a combination of independent study and skill practice with an instructor, you’ll build the confidence and skills to provide basic emergency care. The Primary and Secondary Care Manual and video on DVD preview emergency scenarios and provide step-by-step skill demonstrations.
The Emergency First Response Care at a Glance card is a quick-reference guide for emergency situations. Designed to fit in a glove compartment or backpack, the Care at a Glance card is an important component for any first-aid or disaster preparedness kit.
Emergency First Response includes manual, certification fees and use of all First aid & CPR aids.
EFR courses meet the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors.
Beside the Primary and Secondary Care Courses, Emergency First Response offers Care for Children and other emergency training programs. After completing Primary and Secondary Care, take the PADI Rescue Diver course and the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course Together, these three courses round out your ability to handle scuba diver emergencies.
