RESCUE DIVER

Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence and become a better dive buddy. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to recognize potential problems, During the course you will learn to prevent and manage emergencies both in and out of the water

Most divers say this is the best course they have taken, as the rewards are so beneficial and although it is serious in nature, the rescue scenarios are created with enthusiasm and fun in mind.

  • In water rescue breathing protocols

THE SCUBA GEAR YOU USE

You use all your basic scuba gear including a dive computer and accessories.

THE LEARNING MATERIALS YOU NEED

The PADI Rescue Diver crewpak includes all materials required to complete the PADI Rescue Diver course – including a pocket mask, for rescue breathing. You’ll learn how to think like a rescue diver and practice rescue scenarios in water with your PADI Instructor. Once your Rescue Diver course is complete, you can review the e-Learning to refresh your dive safety skills as needed. This tool box of knowledge and technique will give you the expertise to handle almost any emergency situation.

PREREQUISITES

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must be:

  • Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
  • Have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver​ certification (or have a qualifyingcertification from another organization)
  • Be trained and current for first aid and CPR ( EFR ) within the previous two years (Ask your instructor about Emergency First Response CPR and first aid courses available with FLOAT N’ FLAG).

YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE

PADI offers a Public Safety Diver to further advance your rescue skills if you wish to continue in this area of expertise.

Upon completion of the PADI Rescue Diver course, as you continue to log dives and build upon your dive experience, you may choose to pursue professional diver status with the PADI Divemaster program.
