Want to stay warm? Want to extend your scuba diving season? Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, year round and keep dry. A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and here in our local lakes and rivers. Some areas, conditions are even better in colder months.
Dry suits let you dive more challenging dive sites, and extend your dive season. When you have the right cold water scuba diving attire, you can stand up to the elements and take advantage of the generally better visibility offered by winter months—especially at inland dive sites such as quarries, lakes, sinkholes and caves etc. As a dry suit diver, you’re equipped to scuba dive some of the world’s incredible dive sites in the world’s cooler regions that are best enjoyed in a dry suit even in their warmer months. Diving in cold water generally makes diving in warm water that much easier too.
Gain the knowledge and skills to safely put on, dive with, take off and store a dry-suit. Get introduced to the different types of suits so you can make a very informed decision if considering purchasing a dry suit.

In Water Practical skills you’ll master in this course:
A dry suit is required for this course, along with all the basic gear requirements. Please contact FLOAT N FLAG for more information on rentals or purchase of a dry suit.
Your PADI eLearning, plus an in-depth review session, are the key learning opportunities for your Drysuit Certification. Your PADI Instructor will share their knowledge and experience with you, ensure your drysuit fits properly and seals are trimmed, prior to your confined water orientation dive. Then, you’ll do 2 OW dives with your instructor to practice some of those skills and just enjoy your drysuit and staying warm! Welcome to a whole new level!!
Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another training organization) and at least 10 years old.
Scuba diving with a dry suit is useful when diving many types of dive sites. A dry suit is necessary when ice diving and sometimes while altitude diving. Many technical divers wear dry suits on almost every dive due to the length of the time spent underwater. The longer the diver is in the water, the more thermal protection is required. If technical diving is something that interests you, check out the Discover Tec Diving experience.
The PADI Dry Suit Diver certification credits toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
