Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and the rise of digital underwater photography has made it easier and more fun than ever to capture images of your underwater scuba adventures. This is why there are actually two PADI Underwater Photography courses. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course gets you going quickly with today’s modern digital equipment, whether you use a point-and-shoot snap camera or a sophisticated D-SLR like the pros. The PADI Underwater Photographer course is a more traditional photography course designed for conventional film equipment.
Have you ever wished you had a camera when that manta ray flew by? Or when you recognized that elusive frog fish? Been disappointed that your photos were all green and blurry?
Digital has taken the underwater photography world by storm. Get in on the action with the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course. You can quickly and easily capture the underwater world with your camera and on your computer.
It’s a great way to relive the adventures you’ve had, plus capture images to share with your friends and family.
This is one of PADI’s most adaptable specialty courses, and can even be started during the last dive of your PADI Open Water Diver course, plus, The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer certification credits toward the Master Scuba Diver rating.
Did you think only professionals get those amazing shots? During the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course, you will learn how to get those photos faster and easier than you imagined.
The course offers instruction on the following:
Bring your camera system or inquire about testing out a different one from float n flag.
Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization). However, you can take the course as a snorkeler and receive a non-diving certification. Better yet, take the Open Water Diving course too!
Two excellent specialties to pair with underwater photography are the PADI Enriched Air Diver course, and the PADI Dry Suit Diver course on your way to PADI Master Scuba Diver. The PADI Enriched Air Diver course allows you to extend your time underwater so you have more time to capture images. In cooler climates, a dry suit allows you to dive comfortably longer, and to make more dives.
You may also find the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course gives you helpful tips to optimize your weighting and skills so you’ll be in better position to capture that perfect picture. PADI Reef Fish ID course provides the understanding and knowledge about your subjects, so you can identify all those beautiful creatures in your slide shows.
For more information about this or other PADI courses have a chat with one of the FLOAT N’ FLAG Team members.
